Re: False positive on undeadlinks.com

Quoth GµårÐïåñ Now if your problem is solved, how did it get solved? By changing the uri to something with less ambiguous/suspicious code. The original Error message quoted by the developer pointed out that the original link was sus; the developer changed the link to non-code text, NS now doesn't ne...

Re: False positive on undeadlinks.com

I notice that the uri for the link is the general "referrer", rather than an expression.

This makes a hole for the developer only to fall into perhaps?

Re: NYTimes.com doesn't work with No-Script

Seriously Alan, you might like to point this out to Giorgio because of the numbers of users who like to delay major upgrades - for their own good reasons, of course :-) If it's an easy fix, why not? Oh look, I found that password. But I'm too error-prone in green, so I will revert to a plain regsitr...

My own experience is that Scroogle scraped away a ...

Re: Board database wobbly?

Thanks for holding my hand; I'm not used to forums where threads are so freely edited and didn't think before putting fingers to keyboard. Sorry for this late response, but although I have the option for email alerts toggled on (obviously) I got no email alert of your reply to this topic. Yes, I che...

Re: Fx 3.0.11 freezes with Java

Had a few minutes again just now waiting for a job to complete. So opened new profile with QS extension disabled (I leave it there for visiting users who may like it to run for their purposes) and the latest xpi. NS that I had on the desktop - I don't think the NS version is critical here from my re...

Re: Fx 3.0.11 freezes with Java

Bug introduced in version 3.0.11 of Firefox. Hi Alan, Noticed this heads-up before I went to get the latest Java. Couldn't reproduce with Update 13 running in current Fx with Java QS extension disabled. Used Java console to get Update 14. This left the port to the java update site open after the Ja...

Re: Ghostery provokes clickjack

NS blocks the webbugs Have I got that wrong? I have always understood that NS covers just the main classes of those little bits of code. Web bugs are a very diffuse class of things that can report using a wide range of methods, and a user really has to go to specialists for any kind of comprehensiv...

Re: Perspectives ext updated to 3.0.2

Glad you found a way to fix your "laggy DNS results" problem. I haven't had any vague hangs, so it's not a problem for me. Linux, or more precisely Ubuntu has some dns quirks that I haven't encountered before in either OS X or XP - and I haven't time right now to delve into the mechanics ...

Re: Perspectives ext updated to 3.0.2

After a short troubleshoot yesterday, I've uninstalled Perspectives 3.0.3 - finding it was implicated in the laggy DNS results I mentioned in the vague hangs thread http://forums.informaction.com/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=1494#p5207 Possibly to do with stuff I use not being mainly served from USA, bu...

Re: Ubuntu permissions for ABE still buggy 1.9.3.9

Do you mean that on a clean profile , with no previous ABE version installed, the directory is created with wrong permissions? Or that you expect the "fixed" version to retroactively fix permissions and create default rules? I didn't implement the latter because all these versions were be...

Re: keyboard shortcut not working?

Suggestion: What about ctrl-shift-backspace? Doing a test with that shows it functional here.
That's what I used for NS with zero conflicts in OS X 10.3.x for 3 years.
