Ah! That did the trick. Made a new profile, moved teh most important stuff and now it works. Thanks for the patience 8-)

Good point... It appears no Firefox settings are persisting (although I can bookmark pages)...

However, the prefs.js file is not write-protected, and teh folder does not appear ti be write-protected either.

Perhaps I should re-install FF...

I have tested this now - no settings seem to persist.

I have disabled all other extensions and still the same

I find a reset button under the General tab, next to an Import/Export button. If this was the one you mentioned I see no difference.

I have located one prefs.js file in my apps data folder. It's not write protected or anything.

There are a few other extensions installed, but those are also present on my other PCs that are working properly...

Whitelist rest at startup. Every time.

The issue is this: On my laptop (WinXP, SP3) with FF 3.5.3, Noscript resets every time I restart the browser. No matter what I add or remove from the whitelist, it's always loading the same old same on next startup. It's a bit annoying having to allow the same addresses over and over again for trust...
