Fragment navigation broken (cross-page, Noscript & Ghostery)

Firefox 14.01 / Ubuntu 12.04 / amd64 / unity-2d NoScript 2.4.9rc1 Ghostery 2.8 Fragment navigation is broken cross-page. E.g. I navigate to http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/new-tab-page-show-hide-and-customize-top-sites#w_how-do-i-turn-the-new-tab-page-off in a new tab. It jumps to the *start* of...

Re: twitter links don't work - escaped_fragment issue

<facepalm>. Yes, #2 is valid (and I think caused by #1).

Re: twitter links don't work - escaped_fragment issue

Dev build 2.2.2rc2 fixes twitter access through a HTTP proxy when twitter is not whitelisted. Thanks. Issues #1 and #3 identified by al_9x are still valid. [Issue #4 is what's just been fixed]. Issue #2 is probably a red herring. al_9x points out that the undesired fragment is preserved across 301 r...

Re: twitter links don't work - escaped_fragment issue

This is not working right. it won't show anything and the browser simply says the proxy rejected the connection, so any other way you want to share that I can test this to actually see what you are seeing. I was thinking of doing it my own way but i want to stay as close to your actions as possible...

Re: Timeouts and lost messages (split from NS Support)

I like to think and review my replies too, but an hour for two paragraphs? ;) Ah, not that one. Back in the twitter thread. No need to demonstrate; Giorgio already said that the forum timeout was one hour (without interaction). The purpose, again, is to avoid using server capacity for those long go...

Timeouts and lost messages (split from NS Support)

Happened again to my last message. I did leave it for about an hour, with my laptop sleeping over dinner. Again, PHPBB dropped the message on the floor & I wasn't able to recover it using the back button. Lazarus saved me though. So I don't think it's hard to demonstrate; you just need to leave ...

[found] twitter links don't work - escaped_fragment issue

I think I've found it. NoScript changes the URI to use _escaped_fragment_ here: RequestWatchdog.js:152 channel.URI.spec = abeReq.destination = newURL; But "The URI corresponding to the channel. Its value is immutable. Read only ." and the C code relies on that: http://mxr.mozilla.org/mozil...

Re: [RESOLVED]Timeouts and lost messages (split from NS Supp

I was a bit concerned about saving form entries that could include passwords, credit card #s, etc. That did make me a bit queasy. Those specific concerns have been considered. Password fields are blacklisted. Numbers long enough to be credit card numbers are replaced with a placeholder. The encrypt...

Re: [RESOLVED]Timeouts and lost messages (split from NS Supp

Deleting the cookies from forums.informaction.com doesn't seem to have any effect. Ok, it does show I'm logged out if I open a new tab at "forums.informaction.com". But it doesn't interrupt the process of posting in an existing tab. I can hit "submit" & the post goes through ...

Re: Timeouts and lost messages (split from NS Support)

The session timeout is set to 3600 secs (1 hour). Maybe your ISP reassigns you a dynamic IP very frequently, and you're experiencing this issue (work around included) . Thanks for the information. (And to Tom for getting this moved). I suspect I really was that slow to post. It happens sometimes. A...

Offtopic: venting about PHPBB

Entire post subject: Offtopic venting about PHPBB Edit: tone I didn't hit "save draft" every five minutes, not that that's a sane design. Nor are TCP timeouts relevant (HTTP 1.0 uses a separate TCP connection for each request). Nor is it necessary for the server to save any state or privil...

Re: twitter links don't work - escaped_fragment issue

Guardian still couldn't reproduce this (reported in PM), so we conferred and I resorted to sending him a VM. <http://dl.dropbox.com/u/49925445/tc.vmdk>. If anyone else downloads it, please let me know. DropBox seem very friendly, but they do have bandwidth caps. It's a 100Mb VMWare format disk image...
