So NoScript is intentionally lacking in features to preserve firewalls?
As configured, it is already bypassing Chicago Tribune's "firewall" perfectly, it's just causing images on the index page not to be displayed.

Seems to me that NS lets you turn off Javascript per domain and that is spread over your entire system. Can it be per page?
