Re: NoScript Webext browser compatibility?

The current version of Chrome is 73 and I have downloaded Chromium, which is the open source version Google Chrome is based on, just out of curiosity to test the Chromium version of NoScript. I think that version 38 is rather old and I would not say it's a problem of NoScript, if it isn't working th...

Re: settings??

Extension settings are no longer available in about:config or user.js. What you can do is customize NoScript, export the settings (this is available on the NoScript settings page), and import the file wherever you want. However, one cannot automatically reset anything at every start of Firefox this ...

Re: Facebook was asking for users' email passwords for verification?!?!?

I have no doubt at all that there are still people who voluntarily sign up (or stay) on Facebook, and I am not able to understand these people.

Re: NoScript Webext browser compatibility?

Does this mean NoScript 10 now compatible with Chromium-based browsers? Yes. And it works well. If so, what specifically are the limitations as compared to same NoScript 10 on a supported Firefox version? The most obvious difference is the missing XSS protection. And of course there is Google's man...

Re: Performance issues

I imported the sites of Peter Lowe's list of ad and tracking servers as UNTRUSTED sites last summer and this made Firefox quite slow. Some pages needed seconds to be loaded, but it was still not that slow as reported here. To test, if there is an improvement in Firefox 66, I have done that again now...

Thanks for the link! However, it gets even more interesting than that: US9407661B2 - Blocking via an unsolvable CAPTCHA . Re: Allow trusted sites to be added based on domain name

There are cloudfront domains which are mostly harmless and there are cloudfront domains which are mostly harmful. Allowing all cloudfront domains is more or less like allowing the whole internet. The default white list may need an update indeed (I for one would be perfectly fine with an empty white ...

Re: This web address in datascience.com blog cause consuming all memory

In my Firefox configuration the memory consumption does not rise up with NoScript disabled. However, it rises tremendously fast with NoScript enabled and all restrictions disabled. And it rises up tremendously fast with a fresh profile without NoScript.

I am using Firefox 65 with NoScript 1.2.2rc2.

Re: [10] Taskbar Icons r Reordered on open from Session Restore

Sorry, how could I be that stupid. I looked at the toolbar of NoScript instead of the taskbar of Windows. I have tried it with a fresh profile now and did everything as described. (1) without NoScript: I opened four windows with four different pages alphabetically sorted. Then I closed Firefox (File...

Re: extend NS to include image & cookies control

It depends on how important it is to you to be able to block cookies with an extension, but uBlock Origin can be used very well in combination with NoScript. uBlock Origin can do more than just blocking annoyances. In your use case, the advanced mode of uBlock Origin can be used for blocking images ...

Re: [10] Taskbar Icons r Reordered on open from Session Restore

Firefox 65 with fresh profile and Noscript 10.2.2rc2 from noscript.net. Everything default, just changed the setting of Firefox to restore the session. With noscript.net and the welcome page of Firefox loaded, everything looks as expected after closing Firefox and opening it again. Both pages are lo...

Re: Site permissions not visible

At the very least, the user interface should draw the user's attention to this setting if it's enabled (just for clarity, I'm talking about the "Disable restrictions globally (dangerous)" check box). The icon in the toolbar is a different one and the icon in the popup as well, if that option is ena...

Re: Blocked Objects Appear at the Bottom of Amazon

By the way, Take a look. does not make it obvious at all that the problem is (or may be) that you apparently think it's NoScript which groups placeholders together instead of replacing blocked objects. Nowhere until the last comment gave any hint you would assume that. This is a very good example of...
