What's happening is whenever Firefox (or Waterfox in my case) loses focus, then you click somewhere in it to cause it to regain focus, most of the time, though not every time, the single-click is registered as a double-click. No, this is not a job of NoScript. NoScript is a security tool, not a privacy tool. The addon mentioned in the OP rewrites request URLs on the fly to remove any tracking from a URL, not necessarily just redirects. NoScript never had such functionality.
