Re: No placeholder for blocked HTML5 media

Video-tag is HTML5-video, no matter if it plays the video from file or streams it with MediaSource. You guys are not seeing things. There is no placeholder for video tags that play the video from file. And can't remember that there ever has been (in NS10). No code in the sources that would do that. ...

Re: noscript blocks access to external json file?

By default NoScript has fetch permission enabled for DEFAULT-preset. This should allow downloading (fetching/XHR) from all domains that have no explicit permissions set. However, if you have removed fetch permission from DEFAULT, you can allow it for domain of your choice by setting that domain to C...

Re: FTP emulation now needs scripts enabled

Looks like Mozilla made some changes to the ftp pages that break the current workaround. Should be easy patch.

Re: noscript blocks access to external json file?

Sanity check: you do have fetch enabled for the domain the json is fetched from, e.g. raw.githubusercontent.com?

Re: Google sanitary

That is a nice feature. Personally sanitize the links myself too. Don't really like Google knowing where I browse, the overhead or the fact that it's hard to see where the link is actually taking you. That said, I don't think this feature belongs to NoScript. Two reasons: 1. As has been stated here ...

just tested.
general.useragent.override.google.com.au
Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; MSIE 9.0; Windows NT 7.1; Trident/5.0)
does not work.
For me that does work. As well as any other country specific override. Did you actually test it on https://www.google.com.au and not just https://www.google.com ?

Looks like something about the client and locale. Probably added by the search engine?

Re: google search results displaying in mobile mode with Noscript, despite being on desktop

So as I assumed - general.useragent.override.youtube.com is just to get the old youtube design - not necessary to fix the search pages.

And the general.useragent.override is necessary only if you have other problems like outdated browser.

in my case the youtube string was needed.
Is that for some specific search?

Re: google search results displaying in mobile mode with Noscript, despite being on desktop

Did you try clearing cache, cookies and history? Though the youtube string is only necessary if you want to have older youtube design. And the general.useragent.override should not be necessary for anything. Try just setting general.useragent.override.google.com or even more specifically general.use...

Re: google search results displaying in mobile mode with Noscript, despite being on desktop

It's not a Noscript issue - happens also if Noscript is not installed but javascript is otherwise disabled. Looks like Google made some changes and I don't like them either. Currently the only way I can come up with to get back to the old design is to use a old enough user agent string. But I would ...

Re: Some sites require some permissions in default preset to work even if same permissions are granted by trusted preset

Both example pages fetch the table content from www.googleapis.com. For the fetching to work, that domain needs to have fetch enabled.

Re: media.mediasource.enabled = false breaks NoScript

Unfortunately there is not much you can do with that solution unless you want to fork and patch NoScript yourself.

Let's hope Giorgio notices this soon and makes an official patch.

Re: Request: PDF support

PDF.js (Firefox's built-in PDF reader) does not execute the embedded javascript ( https://github.com/mozilla/pdf.js/issue ... -282408504 ).

NoScript offers no settings for PDF handling as Firefox itself has plenty of options for that.
