Thanks, I did that but I got an error message stating 'failed to read the config file'
I don't know if it makes a difference but I'm running a portable version of FF

Re: 5.1.8.7rc4 is not signed
Must admit, I do get fed up with a lot of the so called 'security' crap..some of which is totally unnecessary. This started right after I installed the hack. I hadn't made any other changes either to FF or the add-on itself Is it possible that Mozilla has changed something that is 'breaking' the add...

Re: 5.1.8.7rc4 is not signed
Although this hack worked and I managed to install noscript I appear to be having problems installing some extensions..I'm getting a addon corrupt message.
How do i reverse the hack, do I have to change the about:config entries? I tried deleting the files but that stopped FF from starting.

FF 56 not secure? Also NS 5.1.8.7
I have a vague recollection of you saying that FF56 is not as secure as 55, is that correct? I'm currently using 55.0.3 and was thinking of going to 56 (not quantum, under any circumstances) Also I've managed to install Noscript 5.1.8.7 (thanks to the hack)...does this correct the bug that Zerodium ...

Re: 5.1.8.7rc4 is not signed
Thanks for the hack...it solved a long standing problem for me...
Is it OK, once the unsigned extensions have been installed, to delete the two files mozilla.cfg and autoconfig.js from the firefox directory and just replace them when I need to install another unsigned extension?

Re: 5.1.8.7rc4 is not signed
Why can't this be signed?...I'm using FF 55.0.3 and I have no intention of changing this
I also use ublock origin and all the updates for this are signed when on the github site.

noscript, bypass cloudflare for "unblocked" sites
I'm running FF 55.0.3 and Noscript 5.1.8.3. Recently whenever I try to access an "unblocked" site eg: primewire.unblocked.vc and I'm getting directed to cloudflare (this started happening about a month and a half ago) with the message "Please turn JavaScript on and reload the page&quo...

update on Firefox
For some time now the addons update on Firefox isn't picking up updates on Noscript...neither auto update or check for updates pick up the new version. I'm having to either go on the Noscript site or go onto the Firefox add ons site...
updates for my other add ons are working OK.
