I have been getting this file type lately as the only download option instead of the various resolutions in .mp4. Youtube seems to work ok. Same problem in firefox or chrome. Found a workaround using Download Vimeo Videos extension for Chrome. Will flashgot get update? Here is an example that is .m4...

Recently I have been finding videos segmented (x_segment_x.m4s.mp4) instead of the usual different resolutions 720, 1080, etc. What changed and how can I fix this? Using Firefox and problem encountered on vimeo.
