Re: How to allow x-load for all file: URLs?
12.5.904 now shows the "x-load" permission for "file:" in NoScript Options > Per-site Permissions 👍 , but enabling it there doesn't seem to have any effect? Before posting this thread, in NoScript 12.5.903 I also tried setting this permission manually for "file:", and t...

Re: 12.5.902 high CPU usage and memory consumption
Much better, now it even uses less CPU than with the previous working NoScript version. Thanks for the fast fix!

Re: Localization NS 10
So, if file:/// saved from example.com. is open and it wants to load active content from notexample.com, then the "x-load" checkbox should appear in file: -> CUSTOM with the tooltip: "Capability for ‹…› directory." More like if you open "file:///home/fatboy/Downloads/somepa...

How to allow x-load for all file: URLs?
NoScript 12.5.x introduced a new "x-load" capability that is disabled by default for file: URLs. Since I consider all local files as trusted, I would like to enable x-load for all file: URLs. How to do this?

[Fixed] 12.5.902 high CPU usage and memory consumption
NoScript 12.5.902 Firefox 137.0.2 new profile I have the Rust documentation locally installed. When viewing this local copy of the Rust documentation, Firefox's file:// content process continuously uses a lot of CPU and continuously consumes more and more RAM. The Firefox tab indefinitely shows the ...

Re: unable to activate account
can I pm you to verify the email address is I used is correct? I don't expect you to tell me what the email address is, just to confirm it is the same one I thought I used. PM requires login, so this wouldn't be possible until after your account is working The correct email address is (first name) ...

Re: Confused on safety of allowing Fetch in Custom settings
If somerandomsite.com and wallstdata.com are allowed to run scripts on a mybroker.com webpage, their scripts run in the context of the mybroker.com webpage , so any "fetch" they initiate would look the same as a fetch initiated by mybroker.com's first-party scripts. What you're describing ...

Re: Unable to allow media elements to display on this page
I have clicked on the "Disable on this tab" option, and just got on with things at the time. If that worked, then you are not experiencing the type of problem discussed in this thread. When you have more details of the issue you are experiencing, please start a new thread, also making sur...

Re: NoScript can no longer be verified in old Firefox versions (split from t=27254)
Elmbeard, your issue sounds very different from the one discussed in this thread: The recommended browser for OSX 10.6 is Interweb, which is based on Firefox 55. Actually, looks like Interweb is based on a fork of UXP/Goanna (which yes some versions are in turn Firefox 55 based). Last I checked, UXP...

Re: about:addons png blank
This is not normal and would not be controlled by NoScript. Not sure if what follows is relevant, but since your issue started after a reinstall: I have previously seen where some, but not all, addons would be displayed with blank icons in about:addons after copying my Firefox profile to another sys...

Re: NoScript could not be verified for use in Firefox and has been disabled
Split these posts to a new thread so this issue can get its own proper attention. The issue in the other thread involved similar symptoms, but the cause was different - this new issue is more widespread and is not resolved.

Re: [Resolved] NoScript could not be verified for use in Firefox and has been disabled
This thread is only for the specific issue the OP faced in January 2025. As of 2025-03-14, a certificate that old versions of Firefox are using to verify add-on signatures expired, resulting in symptoms similar to this issue for a larger number of users. Since the two issues have different causes, d...
