Re: Block site redirects until "Recently blocked" feature returns (hopefully)
Sorry for the late reply. I have found some newer Firefox settings I have now set to warn or prevent redirects, but those settings apparently don't do anything when a site is redirecting to a different page on the same site - which makes sense, I guess. I run with everything completely blocked by de...

Block site redirects until "Recently blocked" feature returns (hopefully)
Using Firefox 99, I have been seeing more and more sites that redirect to an error page saying there is a problem (while giving NO useful information as to the problem), and in some cases it is NoScript doing what it should to block something. In the old days, I would check the "Recently blocke...

Re: Support for ABE and Surrogates
Thanks for the information! I will be looking at uBlock Origin between now and the end of the year, hopefully. I have a few critical sites that are warning they will stop supporting my older FireFox soon, and I am worried I won't be ready if they are not bluffing.

Support for ABE and Surrogates
Long time fan of NoScript - it is a critical part of my online privacy. I am still using FF 56.0.2 because of a heavy dependence on ABE and Surrogates for advanced privacy protection. I don't allow anything from google or affiliates to run on my PC, so surrogates are critical. And I have a ton of AB...

Re: Loading Failed message in Browser Console for Surrogate
Thanks for fast reply! That is what I was hoping the message meant, so now I will move on to the next level of debugging. Also, thank you for letting me know my NS is not up to date. I will update later this weekend.

Loading Failed message in Browser Console for Surrogate
I have a surrogate setup for googleapis.com's jquery.min.js - and in the Browser Console, I see this error message: Loading failed for the <script> with source “https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.7.1/jquery.min.js” I am not sure if that messages means my surrogate is not loading properly...

Re: A Toggle to Completely Disable All Protections
If this will be implemented I'd vote for an about:config-only toggle of "disable everything but ABE", with a warning when it's used - then: - your clients won't do that willy-nilly, but you can recommend them to do it if they are in a hurry and want to troubleshoot more later - if the use...

Re: Find function for ABE rules
I hate to be greedy, but another place a find function would be nice is in the whitelist. This is more important when the whitelist contains a mix of full addresses, domains, and domains with subdomains, because the related things on the whitelist are not sorted together, especially when using full ...

Re: Sites using subdomains to redirect to third party sites
akamai(edge) is a CDN / hosting, that is probably a perfectly legitimate DNS aliasing as the content you get there is likely just the site's content. The site is just mapping it to their subdomains for convenience. Personally I wouldn't worry about that one at all. Thanks. I will still anonymize, b...

Re: Sites using subdomains to redirect to third party sites
Here are a few more examples: cdn.etrade.net e5375.b.akamaiedge.net personal.fidelity.com a445.b.akamai.net. www.fidelity.com e11365.b.akamaiedge.net www.fid-inv.com e10141.b.akamaiedge.net Had to work to be able to get logged on to Fidelity today after removing fidelity.com from my NS whitelist and...

Re: Sites using subdomains to redirect to third party sites
I don't think I'm entirely following what you mean by a 'redirected' subdomain. Do you mean that it resolves to the same IP address? Or that there is an actual HTTP redirect happening (which would restore the usual domain-based controls)? Or something else? Maybe I should have called it a subdomain...

Find function for ABE rules
My ABE rule list is now large enough to be difficult to edit in the Advanced/ABE tab of the NoScript options window. I have read about an Edit Rules button, but I have never seen that, and in any case I believe that just launched an external editor, where you lose ABE syntax checking. A better edito...

Re: Sites using subdomains to redirect to third party sites
This is not just a tracking/advertising subdomain of a site.. the situation here is that a subdomain of a site is an alias for a 3rd-party tracker. OK, but handling them works about the same way. Both correct, but still a concern I am not sure most are aware of. Here is another example: Brokers Ame...

Re: Sites using subdomains to redirect to third party sites
Is it really much more than just that one site that does this? I haven't seen this as far as I can remember. Bear in mind that what makes this special is that they are redirecting a entire subdomain of their site to a tracking domain, not just that they're redirecting to a 3rd-party site - some 3rd...

Sites using subdomains to redirect to third party sites
There seems to be a growing trend (maybe I just started to notice it) of sites using subdomains to redirect requests on their pages to third party sites. For example, fnbodirect.com uses a subdomain of sanalytics.fnbodirect.com which really is: fnbodirect.com.102.112.2o7.net So if I allow content fr...
