Re: a question regarding posting on the internet and privacy

Some variables I need to be considered: 1) Hacker guesses that I've been using the specific forum. 2) Hacker doesn't have physical access to my computer. 3) Hacker has my IP address. 4) Hacker doesn't have my login name and password for the forum in question. 5) What would be the difference if the f...

a question regarding posting on the internet and privacy

Hi I have a question that will help me understand some things about web technology. It's probably too vague I can get more specific as we go along. Say that in a few years some hacker sets up to discover posts I was making on a forum like this one. Would that be possible/easy? In which ways he/she c...

I haven't read all your message yet but I will in a bit.

For now, here is an example of the situation: http://experiment23.nfshost.com/

Re: Is YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode actually privacy-enha

Thanks, now I understand. BTW, it was about whether it would be a good idea to use YT's privacy enhanced mode when embedding vids on my site (I want my site to be as respectful of users' privacy as possible). I guess using this mode is better than using the normal mode because of these reasons: 1) I...

Re: Is YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode actually privacy-enha

Thanks for the very informative reply (and sorry for my late response). But there is an aspect still unclear. If I do let NoScript to allow youtube-nocookie.com, then will Google (who obviously owns YouTube) be able to track my visit to that page? (If so, it would be similar with the case of allowin...

Is YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode actually privacy-enhanced

Hi Say that I embed YouTube videos to my site. As you probably know, YT now offers a new choice to "Enable privacy-enhanced mode". If you do this, then when someone visits your webpage that contains the YT video, YT will not send a cookie to the page's visitor (unless the visitor chooses t...

Re: Clickjacking - A very good VISUAL read

Also: Wouldn't turning on the cam like explained above also turn on my cam's indicator light?

Would the NoScript addon protect us from this?

Re: Idea to protect privacy of website's visitors

Thanks Giorgio.
Please answer me one more question:

Say that I switch to SSL.
Would this mean that the URLs of visited sites also get encrypted ?
Or would the best option be to switch to SSL plus use gibberish filenames?

Re: Idea to protect privacy of website's visitors

Hi
Maybe I shouldn't say "this is directed at Giorgio".
I'm quite confident that others out there could give me a trusted answer.
Can someone please try to answer?
BTW I am serious about my question, if it's not very clear what I mean by it please let me know.

Thanks.

Idea to protect privacy of website's visitors

Hi This question is mostly directed at Giorgio Maone (though someone else with the knowledge can also answer). I'm building a site with an effort to keep it as respectful to its visitors' privacy as possible. I just had an idea and wanted to ask you if it makes any sense: Whenever we visit any page ...

Re: Any more information on this: HTML/Rce.Gen ?

Thanks. I hope it is just escaped script whatever that is.
I scanned with Malwarebytes and Avira and everything seems fine.

Re: Any more information on this: HTML/Rce.Gen ?

Also if someone figures out what kind of "virus" this is, can you say what I should do? I already deleted it, how sure can I be that it's gone? Is it dangerous?
Will it spread if I send email to friends?

Any more information on this: HTML/Rce.Gen ?

Hi I thought you might want to know about this. Not sure if it's actually significant though: I went on this site (it's Greek, I think) and as soon as I got there my Avira av (free edition) popped up saying: Virus or unwanted program 'HTML/Rce.Gen [virus]' detected in file 'C:\Documents and Settings...
