Yes I did check for running firefox processes and did a reboot during my testing, to no avail. I don't think it has corrupted firefox itself as reinstalling appdata files fixes it every time - I never restored the firefox folder in "Program Files (x86)". I've also scanned the firefox logs ...

Unfortunately Firefox would not even load in safe mode after the NoScript update.

Any suggestions on how to approach the problem in light of this information?
