Thank you for your responses.
Noscript 1.9.9.63 works now fully and I can read my email again.
Maybe just restarting Firefox was not sufficient. Since I posted before, I shut down this computer and restarted, and re-enabled Noscript.
Anyway, it all works now.

I just installed noscript 1.9.9.63 in Firefox 3.5.9 in M$-Windows XPSP3. Now, I cannot read my email. I can log into our main university web email service and see the list of messages, and the various folders, but when I click on an individual message nothing happens.
