I have Adblock Plus and NoScript installed; the latter is installed system-wide as root.

The answer to your question is yes. I make a point of installing NoScript as root since the regular user has insufficient permissions to perform the install.
Whenever I have to upgrade/downgrade, I use GKSu to start Seamonkey.

Malfunction observed with 1.9.3.3
I upgraded the extension today, from 1.9.3.1 to 1.9.3.3 and immediately lost use of my Seamonkey web browser in Linux.
