Got it, makes sense of course.

Because "aol.com" already whitelists "mail.aol.com". Adding both is redundant.

Allow button stays greyed out after entering site. Used to work just fine.

EDIT: Just noticed, Allow button works until a domain suffix is added. E.g., can list mail.aol, but not mail.aol.com. As soon as I add .com, the Allow button greys out.

EDIT 2: Think I figured it out. Already had aol.com listed, so anything new ending in aol.com couldn't be added -- not sure why, So removed aol.com and added mail.aol.com, which works.
