Has this been handled to everybody's satisfaction? Since there has been nothing posted in quite a while I assume it has. If not, please contact me at my email address (at the top of my hosts file in hopefully a way a bot cannot read it) and we will discuss it privately for a while.

I must say that an error of thinking exists here. Our combination of a very powerful PAC filter (OS neutral, browser neutral, IP specific and the one proposed here will not work) and a RTS hosts file exists to:
1. Stop your machine from going to hosts that can cause severe damage to your machine. This includes malware, spyware, etcetera. There are hosts you want no part of.
2. Stop your machine from even visiting tracking hosts. It isn't enough to just hobble them with NoScript - we want them gone.
3. Stop ads.
I think once that is understood, people will see how this fits into the bigger security picture. I also think it needs to be emphasized that I am recommending NoScript and will not back away from that. So it behooves us to make hosts files, PAC filters, and NoScript work harmoniously together to protect people. As powerful as NoScript is, there are some hosts you just don't want anything to do with, and NoScript won't do that for you. A hosts file, PAC filter, or the WOT will do that for you.
