Good stuff, I look forward to it Giorgio.

Few things I'd like to add,

I mentioned in the first post, please consider the option to hide the number on the toolbar icon. I'm guessing it's there because the notification bar in NS legacy isn't possible anymore, but I've always relied solely on the icon, even in NS legacy I disable the notification popup.

When you have the time, how about adding the tooltip info (number of things blocked, NS version) on the panel itself? The space at the top between the stop, reload, options, temp permission icons is perfect for it. I want the panel to be a one-stop shop, a bit silly for me to have to view a tooltip when I have the panel open.

Also consider moving the options icon to the bottom of the panel to its own section, maybe display the version number there as well. This makes sense since the options icon have nothing to do with the webpage itself, especially since you added, the stop, reload, temp allow and revoke temp permissions icons at the top.

Sub-sections on the options page makes sense. May I suggest tab sections on the side layout like the Firefox add-ons manager? Tab sections on top (like uBlock Origin) is a nightmare to navigate on mobile, the tiny text also doesn't help. It would be neater for the whitelist to be moved to another section, like the options page on NS legacy. An XSS whitelist section would be nice, as it is now I can only remove everything with no option to view anything.

I'd like to say thank you to Giorgio and the senior members here, for your time and effort. It's great that software like NS is available, can't be said enough.

I agree, but please just allow me the time to restructure the Options Page with tabbed subsections or something like that, because it's already getting too cluttered.

To Pansa, in NS legacy, I don't remember whether it was the default, but as barbaz mentioned it was optional.

Anyways, that's not the point, I'm not here to argue the pros and cons of this, I'm not asking for its removal, I'm just asking for a convenient option for those of us who doesn't want it, everybody is different.

P S - I would've posted this under the development sub-forum, but only the support sub allows posting without an account, maybe Giorgio shold consider that option? I'm trying to limit the amount of accounts I have online.

How to remove “Context menu on web pages to access main UI”?

by ALAKTORN » Fri Feb 09, 2018 7:30 pm

I don’t want that there, it’s just clutter to me and makes it harder to refresh or use other buttons I actually need from the context menu (I assume that’s right click menu). How do I remove it?

Err, yes it is: NoScript Options > Appearance > Contextual menu

Just to point it out:

Having it in the context menu was standard pre 10.1 .
It's not as much new, as it is reintroducing a method that was both existent in prior versions, and was requested back by users who used it that way and avoided having an icon in the bar.
I don't think it was optional back than either.

...options are Good, force is BAD!

Got an autistic member in the family that just freaked out about it... used to select the bottom line in the context menu to play videos on bigscreen and now that NoScript forces itselfe to the bottom of contxtmeny it had to be removed... :( Making surfing the web more chaotic without NoScript removing stuff.......

..Just think about Micro$oft's "We know what you want and need mutch better then you yourselfe do... So here it com...ready or not" windows 10 upgrade/update....Did you like that ?

I second this...

I installed NoScrpt and fell inlove with it.... but the FORCED item in the contextmenu is a bit turnoff.....

Having NoScript in the contextmenu should be an option and not FORCED ... atleast when it is possible to get the same function from clicking the existing icon in the toolbar.....

Is there a way to disable the NoScript context menu entry introduced on 10.1.6.5?

I prefer accessing the options through the toolbar icon, I seldom access the options page and don't want the clutter.

On that note, will there be an option to disable the number of things blocked on the toolbar icon? I remember Giorgio posting it's on the to-do list, but is of low priority.

Love the addon, keep up the good work!
