I think it likely is possible to bring back the sound feature in NoScript 10, even user-customizable. I would suggest you file an issue on GitHub - https://github.com/hackademix/noscript/issues

i am now back to rage. i now installed a separate firefox quantum install (yes, until now, since last time i used old firefox and old NS. and i am only back to test some things and i am and will be happy wo keep using the old stuff.) and am horrified to see there are almost no options of any kind for NS, and no sound anymore. excuse me? go on, tell me it's not possible with WebExtensions. but maybe i'm just dumb. confirm; is there no sound support anymore in NS? i want to have a custom sound play each time NS blocks something.

Yeah, I would hope so.

Happy New Year, 3453245! :D

off-topic: Because unfortunately the old UI is not technically possible in WebExtensions.

I can confirm this in NoScript 5.1.8.3rc1. No related messages in the Browser Console (Ctrl-Shift-J).

Workaround: modify about:config > noscript.sound.block, manually set it to a file: URL pointing to the sound you want.
1.) Confirmed bug? Assume will be fixed in future version?
2.) Changed it via browser config (file:///F:/FF/WAV/SFX (fart).wav)
3.) HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYBODY!!

PS: I was horrified to discover that after I upgraded to Firefox Quantum the look of NoScript changed. I can not stand the look and feel of how it looks/works under Quantum. Why did you do that? (Obviously as per my first post, I downgraded!) Instead of having the NS website "info" at a glance -by simply holding mouse cursor over NS icon- you now go to a separate page that is huge and ugly and weird and stupid as if some iPad settings page. No way! There is no way anyone who used NS for years would like the Quantum look/feel.

The Choose button doesn't work for me, now. (I just installed a fresh Firefox 56.0.2 64-bit and NoScript v5.1.7 on Windows 7) I could just click that button and select a custom file before - over the many years, so what could it be, now?
I looked around for the default audio file (block.wav), thinking it's somewhere local and that I could just swap it out as a workaround, but as far as I can see it is embeded in the xpi file. Not going to try any modifications there, it's not that important. I assume Firefox might crap out with some security warning too anyway.

There is a file picker right next to the filename...

Although personally I just disable the audio notification.

How do you change the obnoxious warning sound when NoScript is blocking a site.

Options shows chrome://noscript/skin/block.wav as the sound source.

How do I get another warning tone.

Thanks
