While I understand the reasoning, the counter argument could be made that it force one of two scenarious:
A) a situation where the 4th button behaves differently than the first three.
B) Hiding the custom options there,too.
Neither seems that much more intuitive than seeing that you can change all four, thus it not really making sense to have "custom" at all, if the other three are customizable per domain, too.
So.... I don't think you are wrong in seeing a problem, but I don't see a problem free solution.
Or put differently: No script always required at least a BIT of experimentation and analysis to get things right, and I don't think seeing that all defaults change when you change one default is
too much to ask :/
