Well, NoScript tries to keep up with modern (and thus patched) Firefox, so unfortunately problems sometimes arise with older Firefox and browsers based on it. Fortunately Giorgio tends to fix them quite quickly.

This has driven me crazy to finally try to find out what was wrong. Indeed as the OP mentioned, it was google analytics being blocked.

And now I come here to find out it's actually a bug with surrogates in Pale Moon.

Fantastic. First obvious bug I've seen with NoScript and PM, which apparently also affects older Firefox versions too.

Edit: Fixed in the 2.6.9.35rc2 dev build, thankfully.

I had a issue with disqis too on http://abc7.com/live/23343/
When I tried to sort the comments it would take the page to just a page of the comments instead of the drop down menu allowing newest comments etc.

It's a bug in NoScript and actually the exact same issue as the other thread.

OK, tested NS 2.6.9.31 through .33 on both PM25.5.0 x64 and PM 25.6.0 x64. As follows:

Disqus commenting worked properly with google-analytics blocked on both PM25.5.0 x64 and 25.6.0 x64 using NS 2.6.9.31.
Disqus commenting failed with google-analytics blocked on both PM25.5.0 x64 and 25.6.0 x64 using NS 2.6.9.32.
Disqus commenting failed with google-analytics blocked on both PM25.5.0 x64 and 25.6.0 x64 using NS 2.6.9.33.

With both .32 and .33, Disqus commenting started working again when the google-analytics script was allowed to run unfettered.

Well, it's easy to check if I'm right: just downgrade NS to 2.6.9.31 and re-test.

looks likely. I'll have to go back and revert some things to see exactly when it starts barfing - I don't want to bollix things on the laptop since I know that letting the G-A script avoids the problem. I don't remember if NoScript updated itself to .32 before PM updated to 25.6.0, I'll have to see if I can get the previous version of PM to put back on and test with .32 and see where it starts dying.

I can say for certain that .32 with PM25.6.0 hangs things with the G-A script blocked - I can block and unblock it and the problem shows up/goes away consistently.

PaleMoon? It's probably the same root cause as viewtopic.php?f=7&t=21084

Hello, sorry to bug - having a problem, and wondering what to do;

NS 2.6.9.32 released on the 27th, and by coincidence, my Disqus account started doing crazy things - mainly, showing as logged in on the disqus home page, but showing as =not= logged in on =any= site that uses disqus for commenting.

I've been backtracking for a couple of hours, and seem to have found the culprit: I normally have google-analytics .com blocked just on general principles, and have had no problems with it. Checked function with IE, worked normally, so narrowed to Pale Moon or a plugin.

Uninstalled/cleaned/reinstalled PM 25.6.0 x64 with no plugins installed, checked function, OK. Installed Adblock Latitude, checked function, OK. At this point I've narrowed it to something with NoScript because it and ABL are the only two plugins I use with PM.

Installed NS, went ahead and explicitly allowed all scripts called on a page that uses Disqus commenting, and began working backward. As soon as I blocked the G-A script and refreshed the page, the broken function came back. I re-allowed G-A and refreshed, problem went away.

Did something change with the G-A script surrogate in the latest NoScript? I looked, but I didn't see anything.
