I meant Windows "save as". When you click a link on a website that contains a file, windows offers you a pop up window where you can choose where and how to save that file on your PC.

It seems No script updated itself to Version 11.2.10.

First two hours went through fine. No script used for 1-2 seconds only 2-5% processor power when the "Save as" window popped up and then it calmed down to 0%.

Let's hope and pray it stays that way.

It looks for the moment like you're correct that it is the same problem. 11.2.10rc1 appears to fix it, for me at least.

I've had it running for one hour now and I've not experienced elevated CPU usage, either from the Noscript task or from the Outlook 365 tab. Normally it would have occurred within minutes.

EDIT: 7 hours and still seems to be fine.

You mean [b]Brave[/b]'s "Save as (ctrl+S)" feature from the context menu, right?

It happens on any website when we use windows internal "save as" function.
If a website offers us the IDM "save as" function, then, No script remains calm, almost 0% processor usage.

You mean for No script? - different. Some have specific scripts set to allow "trusted", some on "untrusted" - different scripts, different websites.

Windows 10 64 bit ltsb in combination with Malwarebytes pro.

Brave's internal task manager shows only No script as source of the insane processor usage.

As I wrote, it does. It is the only thing that helps - you must kill the website in order to calm down No script.
However, when you use the "save as" function on another website No script goes ballistic again with 50 - 70 - 90% of processor usage.

I just verified the behaviour: yes, it goes away when closing the Outlook 365 tab.

The CPU usage was very high in Brave Task Manager for both the task for Noscript as well as the task for Outlook 365. Said spike occurred almost immediately after activating noscript and reloading the Outlook 365 tab.

Closing the Outlook 365 tab restored normal CPU usage.

Other question: does the spike go away when you close the current tab (or all tabs)?

I have noticed exactly the same behaviour with the Brave browser.

The problem occurs for me on Microsoft Outlook 365, so office.outlook.com, with both default and trusted settings. I can't say I've noticed that it is specifically linked to the Save As function. The problem reproduces itself on Outlook 365 all the time, so you should be able to hopefully reproduce it yourself on Outlook 365. I need to totally deactivate Noscript otherwise my CPU use remains very high

My OS is Windows 10 Pro 64-bit 21H1 build 19043.1083, Noscript version 11.2.9, Brave Browser version 1.26.77 64-bit

My Noscript settings are defaulted to "Trust", so it only blocks sites that I explicitly list as untrusted.

However, since I cannot reproduce this specific issue (even though I'm investigating probably related and reproducible Chromium-specific issues on page transitions), could you provide some more information?

what's going on with this script on the Brave browser?

A couple of days back, we noticed spikes in processor usage.
Through Brave's internal task manager, we identified the culprit - No script.

Whenever we use "save as" function, No script shoots up the processor usage, as seen on attached files all the way to 90%. Even when we close the dialog box, the processor keeps spiking until we kill the specific website.

However, when we use the "save as" function on another site, it happens again. We deactivated No script completely and used Brave without it with no problems, including the "save as" function. No processor spikes at all.

We use an updated Brave and No script (11.2.9).

No script behaves here as it carries some hidden crypto mining bot in it.

Now that's great. There's no way to attached Jpegs here. How the heck are we supposed to provide proof of what's No script doing here?
