That was a very simple fix, I didn’t notice those changes in the default tab in the latest version but yes, after checking noscript (it was unchecked) Startpage is working right again.

It's working fine for me in 78..
Could you re-upgrade to 11.2.3 and double check wether NoScript Options>General>DEFAULT has the "noscript" capability enabled?

Sorry for the confusion but I use User Agent Switcher so it says the release version regardless if it’s 78 or nightly. I rarely run with the actual release.

Hope someone can confirm the problem with 78, if not I’ll just keep that FF version at 11.2 and update the nightly only.

Your UA strings say your Nightly is on Windows 10, while your 78esr is on Windows XP?? Does the problem occur on 78esr on an OS version that's actually supported by 78esr, e.g. Windows 7/8/10 or recent Linux?

Hello Giorgio, thanks for your response. This is happening out of the box, Startpage is not configured to either trusted or untrusted. It only comes in with 11.2.3 when the tab is given temporary global permissions or Startpage is made trusted.

What I missed to tell you is that in the nightly 87-88 the problem is not there, 11.2.3 works either way, javascript or not. I’m experiencing this in 78esr, it has not been tested in the release versions.

"whitout javascript" does not mean UNTRUSTED. "Normally" (i.e. in a normal NoScript installation) no site is allowed to run JavaScript unless explicitly set to TRUSTED. All the other sites use implicitly the DEFAULY preset, which forbids scripts but renders <noscript> elements (what Startpage probably needs to work). If you set them to UNTRUSTED, <noscript> elements are not rendered anymore, which is the main change in 11.2.3.

Normally means that javascript is off unless occasionally when there's a need to turn it on temporarily so the setting is default.

I'll try what you're talking about but what I can tell you is that with 11.2 Startpage loads the pages without javascript while 11.2.3 requires it to be trusted at all times.

What does "normally" mean?
Why is it not DEFAULT?
And if there's a good reason, why not setting it to CUSTOM with the "noscript" capability, or check the "noscript" capability in the UNTRUSTED preset?

[RESOLVED] (11.2.3) Startpage would not load unless Javascript is on (split from t=26240)

It may not be resolved yet. Today I installed 11.2.3 and Startpage would not load unless Javascript was on. Normally it's configured as untrusted so after downgrading back to 11.2 it's working again.
