Hello everyone. I wanted to contact support for this because I'm not able to find information about this issue. Recently, I was browsing through
panopticlick to see how secure my browser was, and fortunately with NoScript on most fingerprinting details weren't stored and instead "no javascript", meaning the awesome correct functioning system of NoScript. I love it. However, in the option that said "Is your browser accepting Do Not Track commitments?" the value was No. However, I did have Firefox enabled to send Do Not Track signals at all times. So I thought, "ok then it's probs NoScript". I looked into the GUI settings to see if I could set it up so it sends them, but there was no configuration. I came to search more on ways to make it send signals and found
this website, it was from 2010 but I thought it'd still work. I went to about:config and changed (actually, added, nothing was there, would find out soon why) the
noscript.doNotTrack.enabled option, thinking it would work, but it didn't. I started searching for solutions, and found the NoScript FAQ that talked of a legacy NoScript that used to work with the about:config, but no longer did and started moving to GUI settings and overall a new NoScript experience (I guess you all know this already). It said to export settings from the old NoScript and by importing them they would be restored. However, I never used this awesome extension until this year, therefore I never used the legacy one. I exported my settings to the JSON file to see if there was a doNotTrack entry, but there wasn't, and I didn't know where could I put it. I tried to search for the settings JSON file docs for all the possible configurations, no luck. Maybe some forums talking of this? No luck, maybe I didn't search enough even when I thought I did. Anyways, I didn't find any help to change it for NoScript to send the Do Not Track signals. So, what I wanted to ask is: How do I change this configuration now? Where in the JSON file can I insert the doNotTrack entry to enable it, or if somebody wanted to, if somebody could give me their configuration JSON file (if and only if you have the Do Not Track enabled for it, otherwise it's useless for me) so I could import it and NoScript would send the signals well? Thank you in advance for the help, it will be gladly appreciated.
