You can uninstall the pre-releases and install the regular version now that 11.0.4 stable has been released.

I am using the pre-release debug build provided on this thread with Version 78.0.3904.70 (Official Build) (64-bit) and it is also remembering my settings properly now. I am happy to provide any further QA or system information as needed.

The pre-release is working well, my preferences are being stored again.

So far, so good. Thanks for working on this Giorgio.

The pre-release worked. Config is completely there after restart. Great job.

The configuration is being saved so my guess is that you must be close to getting the stable version out. Kudos!

This is a pre-release, meant to be tested by alpha/beta users only and therefore to be released (and possibly reiterated) quickly.
Normal releases, which don't require Developer Mode, can only be deployed through the Chrome Store where they undergo a review process which usually takes one week or so, hence they're perfect for general consumption but not for testing.
As soon as 11.0.4 stable is published on the Chrome Store, you'll just need to uninstall 11.0.3.999xxx, disable Developer Mode if you wish and install 11.0.4.

That worked...sort of.
I followed your instructions and when I looked at the extensions, I noticed that there now were two NoScripts. The original NoScript and the new one so I disabled the original one. Was I supposed to do that?
I imported the file and it did save it even after closing Chrome and re-opening it...that's good!
However, I got a popup when I re-opened Chrome telling me to disable Developer Mode for safety reasons. When I disabled Developer Mode, the new NoScript extension went away. The only way to get it active again was to enable Developer Mode.
That wouldn't be so bad except now each time I open Chrome I get the Developer Mode warning.
Does this updated version of NoSripts have to have the Developer Mode active?

Please check this pre-release by installing it as an unpacked extension, i.e.:
  • Download the zip and unzip it to a local directory
  • Open chrome:extensions in your Chrome/Chromium browser
  • Switch on the "Developer mode" toggle on the top right
  • Use the "Load unpacked extension" button which should have just appeared on the left to locate and select the aforementioned local directory
Good luck and let me know

So, I deleted an entry from the trusted sites section of the noscript_data.txt export. I then imported it back to into NoScript. I then added another trusted site, and exported the result. I expected to see 339 sites as before. Instead, the site I removed is back in the export, along with a something I've not seen before. A snippet of what appears:
...
"§:informaction.com",
"\"script\",",
"\"object\",",
"\"media\",",
"\"font\",",
"\"webgl\",",
"\"other\"",
"[],",
"xn--\":addons-cka.mozilla.org\",",
"xn--\":afx-zga.ms\",",
"xn--\":ajax-3ha.aspnetcdn.com\",",
...

I'm not sure what to make of this.

I currently have 339 trusted sites. This is the point where NoScript begins "forgetting" new trusted sites for me. No new trusted sites will be stored.

I am using NoScript with the new Edge browser Version 79.0.287.3 (Official build) dev (64-bit), built using the Chromium project.

Even though this thread is about importing files for NoScript to use, I feel that I have run into a similar issue.

I've found that after white-listing numerous sites/scripts the extension will eventually stop remembering them and only retain the ones it saved before that point. For example, I'll go to a site that I haven't visited before, set it to Trusted and browse just fine, but later after closing the browser and coming back NoScript had forgotten the Trusted setting and returned to the default. This behavior continues to occur for any site that I revisit after NoScript decided to stop remembering/saving the setting. Only the sites that I had visited and configured before that point will continue to load the correct permissions.

In short: NoScript seems to stop saving site preferences after a while as if it ran out of storage space.

I use the Vivaldi browser which is based on the Chrome web engine.

Sorry, I didn't manage to reproduce even trying in different Chrome/Chromium configurations.
Could you please try to:
  1. Check NoScript Options>Advanced>Debug
  2. Open More Tools/Extensions
  3. Select NoScript's [details]
  4. Click Inspect Views > background page
  5. Select the Console panel and clear all message
  6. Change some NoScript persistent settings (e.g. some site from DEFAULT to TRUSTED or vice-versa)
  7. Watch for any new error message appearing in the console
Also if you export your configuration file and share it with me privately it might be helpful to spot some specific detail.

I can confirm this remains a consistent issue. I love NoScript on Firefox, but cannot use it on Google Chrome without re-loading my settings every time.

I opened NoSript in Chrome and all I found was this:
Permissions
Read your browsing history
Change your privacy-related settings

There doesn't appear to be any such permission for database size.
