Re: Download of a webpage fails

I tested saving some pages from this forum. Looks like the error is related to the site not having "script" permission in NoScript.

The issue with css not saved seems unrelated to NoScript. It happens to me in a clean profile without NoScript. Seems due to @import'ed CSS files not being saved.

Personally I just use Web ScrapBook for saving webpages. It is not subject to these limitations.

images and CSS files were still missing after retry.
Well, they are not missing directly ... they are absolute, not relative as normal. So unable to view that file offline.

I must correct myself. It works with NoScript disabled.

Ok.

Done. Same problem as above: download manager of Firefox marks the download as "failed" ... images and CSS files were still missing after retry.

This is strange..

So some of this issue is not related to NoScript. So, first step is to isolate which parts of this could be NoScript related.

Please create a new, clean profile, leaving all the defaults. Make sure this works.
Now add NoScript latest development build, leaving the default settings. What parts of the problem return, if any?
If you still don't see the problem, please import your NoScript settings into the clean profile using the Import and Export buttons in NoScript Options, and test again. What parts of the problem return?

(I would wonder if the NoScript related portions of this problem have any relation with the NoScript permissions you have set for the site you're trying to save?)

Download of a webpage fails

by QJJ » Fri Jul 19, 2019 6:26 pm

Hello,

when saving a webpage (File -> Save Page As..., Web Page Complete) the download manager of Firefox marks the download as "failed". No HTML file was saved. Nearly every website is affected.

After retrying (button on the right) the download seems to be ok, but images and CSS files were missing.

I don't know how to solve the problem or even which component is responsible for this behaviour, but if I disable NoScript, no error message is displayed (but it doesn't work either).

Any ideas?

(Problem occured after updating to Firefox 68.0 and NoScript 11.0)
