@piotr_mil
The problem with http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=egVDIlpA-Ag is that it's too short (454KB), while currently the size threshold to trigger FlashGot Media is set at 1MB, in order to cut the noise.
Just lower the flashgot.media.minSize about:config preference to 200000 (the value I'll give it in next release) and you should be able to download that clip.

Then update FlashGot to the latest development version & try again.

Got a small question...
(didn't want to register and make a new post for just this, so i posted it here instead :D )
How do you download one specific video from sites that show multiple videos per page like failblog.org?
It just says FlashGot Media (2). there does not seem to be a way to download just one of them.

I have been having problems for quite some time as well. After reading this post I switched from DownThemAll to FF built in and I was able to get my video.

This is the page in question in the event that it helps: http://g4tv.com/attackoftheshow/exclusi ... ation.html

I was also having problems with YouTube + FlashGot 1.2.1.21 + Firefox 3.6.3 + Slackware Linux 12.0, but the fix was simple.

I changed the Download Manager to the Browser (Built In), then downloading from YouTube worked again (still have to wait for the video to completely finish loading).

Many thanks to Maone for this great extension.

Compass.

Hey, an interesting bit of news:

flashgot CAN download a youTube video if it is embedded on some other webpage (such as this: http://www.joemonster.org/filmy/23883/J ... ce_pytanie don;t mind the video, i picked a random one), but when you try to open it ona YT weppage(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=egVDIlpA-Ag), flashgot fails.
I'm using FlashGet 1.9.1073, I'm getting constant errors:

Edit: I confirmed it, I placed a YT video on my own blog, now I can dowlnoad it. How strange is that? YT seemed to changed its site yesterday. Talk about April Fools day...

Another edit, not sure if helpful; before the crash all the downloaded videos had ".flv" ending, like "videoplayback.flv". Now this extension disappears.

It's not FlashGot's fault. That movie is being served as a crypted RTMP stream, which no "legal" downloader supports yet.

Deleting IE's cookie helps :)
Thanks a lot

I think I should point out that this problem correlates with youtube insisting on making viewers update their flash, and also that they are now offering another level of high definition viewing. Some videos go up to a revolution of 1080p now. Which means, you'd be downloading a HUGE file.

Re: No longer can download from YouTube

I noticed this, too. I found a way to download, though, by using adblock plus to detect the .flv file from http://*.c.youtube.com (just search "c.youtube"), then opening that url in a new tab, and downloading with firefox's built in download manager.

Yes it's help! BIg thank! Now FDM and FlashGet download video perfectly! This workaround make my crazy. May be add this to faq?

May you answer to one question - name of download manager supported by FlashGot, and what can import cookies directly?

P.S. I read in faq what FlashGot don't have Unicode support, to save windows 98 compatibility. I think windows 98 now complete dead. All right, not unicode mean not unicode. May i try to add not completely Unicode support, bu tat lest different code page compatibility (not 1252). I think it can work well on windows 98 also.

Please notice that FlashGet takes cookies from Internet Explorer's cookie repository, hence FlashGot needs to merge those from Firefox with those from IE.
Try to clear cookies in IE and check if it helps.
