It's not a problem with Firefox 4.0.1. Now, I use Firefox 7.0.1 and my browser asks me to update it with the new version 8.0.1. but I donb't wabt to do so if I don't know it works with flashgot latest version. What I want to do is, to update fireox and flashgot at the same time, if possible

How is this relevant to anything. You will be banned for trolling if you keep posting bogus things. The link is removed.

Could you elaborate "doesn't work"?
Are its menu displayed?
Does it recognize your external download manager if any?
Are you referring to batch downloads or to video/audio interception?

Im having the same issue i have uninstalled and reinstalled FlashGot 1.3.7 but when I click on Extensions it says "this add-on will be updated when Firefox is restarted. Not compatible with FireFox 3.6.13"

I have nothing for flashgot on the menu as it used to appear.

Using flashgot 1.4.6 and firefox 13.0.1 and the blinking icon does not show up on flash video pages anymore. I can put the static icon on the add-ons toolbar at the bottom of firefox and I can still right click the page for to the tools menu and click flashgot media but either option still downloads all media on the page rather than letting me select which files to download like I could do with the blinking icon. Anyone have a solution for this one?

I figured it out. The icon was missing in the customize toolbar dialogue box. Upon closer inspection, the text was there indicating where the icon was supposed to be. Clicking in the blank spot under the text added the icon to the add-ons toolbar.

Hi Giorgio,

FlahGot has also stopped grabbing links in the past couple of weeks. I get an error box pop-up "JDownloader not responding on http://127.0.0.1:9666/flashgot! Please check your firewall settings."
There's nothing blocked in my Firewall, but because FlashGot is an add-on, I couldn't find a "program" in the list to add as an exception.
I'm using Firefox 14.0.1, Windows 7, FlashGot 1.4.8.1

Any suggestions? thanks, n

I don't think its referring to Flashgot, it means the downloader. Have you checked your firewall to see that the DOWNLOADER is allowed access to conduct traffic? According to what you said, it would be JDownloader and since its java based, you might need to permit java as well.

Although the error in the way its displayed would suggest that its an issue communicating with the tiny webserver that is built into Flashgot that allows for certain cookie and HTTP manipulations, it would be the flashgot.exe but its inside the flashgot.jar file inside the XPI file that it uses for the addon to run so that should not be an issue usually. As a packed chrome component, it should inherit its internet access from the browser settings, so you shouldn't have to explicitly allow it and really can't, unless you are running the addon unpacked.

Thanks GµårÐïåñ for your advice. I was away for a coupe of days, and just started up my laptop, and weirdly enough, flashgot started grabbing links again.
I have done nothing between my last post and today apart from shut-down.
Java is enabled, jdownloader has permissions, maybe my linkgrabber wanted a holiday too!
On a serious note, did you guys tweak anything in flashgot over the past week?

NO we didn't change anything other than add support for a new downloader and try to experiment with a way to get the sizes to show up instead of ??? but that's about it. Nothing that would change or affect what you reported, did you update FG when you came back? Maybe it resolved something in the profile with the update install, but nothing mechanically was changed specific to this. You can check the changelog and see. (http://flashgot.net/getit) Anyway, glad it works for you, take it easy.
