NoScript and Comcast Webmail Preferences

Postby toddm » Fri Jun 22, 2012 11:14 pm

Request for advice on issue ... NoScript and Comcast online Web Mail Preferences:

I often use Comcast's Webmail (online) application. Lately I have been having trouble accessing the filters in their preferences. I simply can not access them until I disable NoScript. After Disabling NoScript I do not have any trouble at all.

Yes, the Comcast Domain is listed on the Whitelist.

I only know enough to get in trouble so I thought I would ask for advice before fooling around .... Obviously I have to tweak something in NoScript but I am not sure what/which to tweak.... I have gone thru the FAQ and searched online but have not seen anything helpful yet.

Thanks for any help

Software ...

Windows 7
Firefox 12
NoScript is current
Comcast is listed on Whitelist
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:12.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/12.0

Chances are they are referencing some API/AJAX from Yahoo or Google which you may not have whitelisted which is causing your problem. Unfortunately without being able to see the logged in side of it and check the page code, its hard to tell. If you have a sub-account that you can share or create with credentials that you can send me via PM, I can take a look and tell you what else you might need to do to make it work. Otherwise, you need to check the menu and also the page source and see if they are referencing and GUI/processing code from somewhere else, like I said, the API/AJAX/JQuery, etc of other sites that's not allowed and is causing your issue.

If no sub-account is available, the OP could possibly post here a list of all domains appearing in the menu?

It looks like both yahooapis.com & googleapis.com are required.

Code: Select all
+yahooapis.com
-yahoo.com
+googleapis.com
+comcast.net

(With only yahooapis.com & not googleapis.com, it could be that you could expand an "Edit" box, but then not be able to collapse it afterwards, kind of thing.)

@Thrawn, correct, they could alternatively give us that, but figured they would have seen what's on there already and wouldn't need to ask :)
@therube, thank you, my suspicion was correct.
