ff says page redirect inprop and other netflix probs

Post by Guest »

Hi!

I saw yesterday in this forum that if getting firefox pages of can't load page due to improper redirects to download the latest version of noscript.

Wow, I thought I had it, but I didn't and so now have latest noscript version .87.

Meanwhile the other day silverlight updated and so now when using netflix I have to shut off private browsing to be able to view movies on netflix. I hope that someday netflix fixes that, but with all the other problems silverlight is causing to users at netfilx, I don't think private browsing is even a worry to them at this point.

Netflix said silverlight update is the problem with the errors at netflix, but I don't think they understood that I was talking about no longer being able to use private browsing when viewing videos at netflix. I can get through the errors fine with noscript, but can't use private browsing. Since silverlight said it fixed some security things, I don't want to go back to earlier version just to be able to browse privately when viewing videos there.

Another problem is when searching at netflix. This is the main reason I am writing.

When I search for a movie I get the 'problem loading page from ff'
Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete. This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept cookies.
So I thought it was I needed to temp allow I believe it was called adtmt or admt..which I did and refreshed, but I got the same message from firefox. There was nothing else that showed on noscript which I might need to allow.

The only other thing that I've done about a week or so ago is new and so not sure if this has any part in the problem, is that I set https for netflix and so added netflix.com to https and under cookies added it to enable automatic secure cookie management. I did this about a week or so ago.

I only noticed that doing a search in netflix gave the 'problem loading page' yesterday and today. I am not sure if it was working before. I've not been there for awhile. So when I was here last night and saw the thread to update to noscript's latest version if getting 'problem loading pages' I thought maybe there might be something I'm doing wrong in noscript to get the 'problem loading pages.'

Ah, I did a print screen and copied to paint but I don't' see how to add it here. It's just showing I'm at netflix in https mode and the firefox page not loading page after I did a search and noscript shows "forbid about neterror"

At first I thought it said net terror..and was freaking out..lol.. but I don't know what to do about that 'forbid about neterror' I've got a bunch of those abouts in the whitelist which I've not read up on to understand what they are for, and so just not sure what to do with that line item.

I appreciate your help.

Thanks!

This can very well be the culprit: Netflix not being compatible with secure cookies.

There are many sites that aren't compatible with secure cookies even if you enforce HTTPS on them.
Examples include Gmail, Paypal, Dropbox, …
