[RESOLVED] Server not found with latest NoScript
Hi,
I have Firefox (3.0.11) and NoScript with the latest update installed. I also use the option with my computer and my broadband to disconnect if there is no activity for a while. If I want to reconnect I get the message "Server not found" which is normal because there is no connection and after the connection is established I refresh the page, it loads again and everything is fine.
That was till yesterday. No if I click to refresh the page when I have been automatically disconnected the page does not load again, it does not even load properly, it always immediately shows "Server not found". I click for about 20 times and always "Server not found etc." I disabled NoScript and everything is back to normal, that menas after first time "server not found", one click to refresh, page is loaded again.
Does anyone have some similar problem and most important of all, how can I fix this?
Thank you in advance!

Re: Server not found with latest NoScript
Hi,
I am using the latest build; nonetheless I just searched for new updates for NoScript, but it said: no new updates available.
In the error console it 'only' has warnings: "error in processing the value of 'cursor'. Declaration ignored file: http://s.ytimg.com/yt/cssbin/www-core-vfl109745.css line: 1" very often, then also "unkown value zoom. Declaration ignored (same URL)".
Thank you!

Development builds are not pushed through automatic updates.foxicat wrote:I am using the latest build; nonetheless I just searched for new updates for NoScript, but it said: no new updates available.

Re: Server not found with latest NoScript
Hi,
I did the upgrade but the problem is still there.
I get more warnings, and the error message from above: Error: [Exception... "'NoScript aborted redirection to http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pa ... ow_ads.js' when calling method: [nsIChannelEventSink::onChannelRedirect]" nsresult: "0x8057001e (NS_ERROR_XPC_JS_THREW_STRING)" location: "<unknown>" data: no]
I would appreciate any help!

Re: Server not found with latest NoScript
Those messages are unrelated to your problem (it's just NoScript blocking script redirections to googlesyndication.com, which you've got blocked).
Suspect: have you got the AVG Firefox toolbar enabled? if so, could you try disabling it?

Re: Server not found with latest NoScript
Hi,
I dont have the Linkscanner component installed. I dont have the AVG Search-Shield & Link Scanner components nor do I have the AVG Security Toolbar.
What now?
Thank you so much!

Re: Server not found with latest NoScript
Sorry to push the thread, but I still have the problem and dont know what to do about it except for disabling NoScript, which I actually do not want to do.
Is there anything else I can try?
Here a more detailed description of the problem:
Behavior before problem:
1)I dont use the internet for 30 minutes, so I am automatically disconnected.
2) I come back to the computer and start firefox; since I am disconnected it shows "Address not found, server not found"
3) I refresh the page, the connection is resumed, page is loaded normally
What happens now is the following:
1)automatic disconnection
2) starting firefox and "Adress not found" due to disconnection
3) I refresh the default start page or any other page; I am re-connected BUT the start page or other page I clicked on before cannot be refreshed, I click about 20 times and the page is still not refreshed; the suddenly it refreshes. Meanwhile I am connected after the first click because I can load any other page, but not the page at first click after disconnection (I tried with different pages and it doesnt work)
Any advice would be appreciated...

Re: Server not found with latest NoScript
What type of Internet connection, dialup, cable or DSL or?
What is it that causes the connection to drop after 30 minutes?
(Where do you go, what do you do to set this 30 minute timeout?)
Are you using software provided by your ISP to do this? Or firewall?
Does the same occur if you tried to reload a page in IE instead of FF?
(Guess not cause the problem subsides if NoScript is disabled.)
As a test, if you create a new Profile, & only install NoScript, does the problem still occur?
If you revert back to an earlier version of NoScript, http://noscript.net/feed, does the problem still occur?

Re: Server not found with latest NoScript
It has very likely to do with the DNS cache.
Could you check this? Rather than clicking 20 times, click just once, then wait 30 seconds, then reload. Can you confirm the page loads?

Re: Server not found with latest NoScript
Similar problem and confirmed that on 5 occasions, 2 clicked once and waited a 30 seconds it comes up on refresh but the 3 clicked did not and had to be refreshed more than a several times to get back. This was one of the issues I had been facing and reported on my post which was claimed to be an extension conflict.Giorgio Maone wrote:It has very likely to do with the DNS cache.
