Noscript Icon disapears with latest version of Adblock Plus

Post by FourthDr »

There was recently an update to Adblock Plus, which seems to be fighting with Noscript's status bar icon. I have to stop both add-ons and restart my browser (Seamonkey 2.24) and then first enable Noscript, then Adblock for both icon to appear. What's the deal here? This never happened before. And I have been using both add-ons together for years now. Any help to solve this? And yes, I have also posted on Adblock Plus's support forum also. No resolution so far.

Unfortunately, while Eyeo's extensions used to support SeaMonkey, their current SeaMonkey support seems nearly nonexistant. Your best bet would be to either downgrade to an old ABP (I suggest 2.3[.0]), or grab 2.1.2 and roll your own from there (as I have for some time now).

It's not Vladimir any more?

2.4 (not 2.4.1) should be working OK.

Well... it sort of is, but it sort of isn't...
Eyeo GmbH was originally a company founded by Wladimir Palant and Till Faida to fund extension development and back the non-intrusive advertising thing.
Since then Wladimir has turned over the actual development of all his extensions to this company.

IIRC there are other problems with 2.4, but if it's working for you, maybe I'm wrong...
