Ok, for whom it may concern: For the time being and with the help of Tom T. (thanks again) I found a solution which is pretty much satisfying to me (see here).

To clarify things again. With all necessary services on kleinanzeigen.ebay.de allowed but google-analytics.com, (at least) the following errors occur:
  • clicking or mouse-hovering over the small pictures so that their big version is displayed in the "main picture place" doesn't work
  • the counter how many people visited the classified is not displayed
  • options on the right are not being displayed, like contact the seller, print or recommend
  • category cannot be chosen, place/zip code is not working properly

Btw. @tom.de: Your second picture shows a small magnifying lense in the buttom right of the classified's main picture which I guess is for enlarging it. I cannot reproduce this lense (or enlarging the pic), neither with a new Firefox profile nor with Opera. I wonder why that is. Do you have some add-on which causes it or is this surely part of kleinanzeigen.ebay.de :?:

Thats definitely from kleinanzeigen - I have no image related add-ons.

Also if you can't get the full images sizes, this definitely means something is still broken (IMHO). Maybe your Fx ist to "new" for kleinanzeigen, can you emulate a Fx with a lower UA?

Thanks for the reply. At the moment I am not able to emulate an older version, but I could try with a clean 3.6.25 profile where it also didn't work. Maybe it's really a matter of the Fx version. Who knows..

I do, now. :ugeek:

But first, I had to tell the armored guard with a machine gun, who stands at the door of Windows with orders to shoot-to-kill on sight the moment that GA appears, to take a break and have dinner. :D

The first discovery was that, in fact, one's country does not matter. I thought the site worked for me without GA, because I did not know what it was supposed to look like.
But with the screenshots posted (thank you!), I see that I was missing the buttons and links on the right side.

The Firefox version does indeed matter.

With Fx 3.6.25, temp-allowing GA in NS and RP makes the page appear as it should, as in Tom.de's second picture.

With Fx 9.01, temp-allowing GA makes everything appear except for the magnifying glass in the lower-right of the large photo.
I tried allowing *everything*, even the Facebook like/don't like button :o , and could not make this appear.

I do not know why. And if you will pardon me, I think that I have reached my limit of research on this issue.
(ETA: One more of many reasons why Your Humble Servant prefers to use Fx 3.x as default browser. IMHO. YMMV.)

So the problem is solved on F3. And if the magnifying glass is not a requirement for you, then the problem is solved on F9 by temp-allowing GA. Or if you use the site frequently, use wupna's ABE rule to automate this for you.

The Big Picture is that the present google-analytics.com script surrogate is not meeting this site's needs.
I copied the GA surrogate on both F3 and F9, compared them using Windows File Compare utility, and they are identical.
So that is not an issue. The surrogate does not work at this site regardless of browser version.

I will make a formal RFE, asking Giorgio to modify the surrogate to fit this site, so that we can all go back to blocking GA everywhere.
Please be patient, as he has a very long TODO list. ;)

Thank you all for your time, patience, research, and cooperation.

Cheers,
- Tom Image

It seems to work for me on both 9.0.1 and Nightly (13.0a1), clean profile and latest development build 2.2.9rc1:

Did Ebay fix something on its side?
Are you still able to reproduce? How?

Hi Giorgio, you're right! It seems you no longer have to allow google-analytics.com on kleinanzeigen.ebay.de! Just tested it with a clean 10.0 profile and NoScript and Request Policy installed (google-analytics blocked). Thanks for the reminder! Otherwise I guess I'd still be surfing with google-anaytics.com allowed for this domain. Now I have removed all ABE rules and such from various addons. Thanks again and have a nice day :D
