Firefox always using default download manager

I would like to show the popup that lets me chose how to download a file for every file I download.
How can I force firefox to show this popup for each download instead of downloading everything with the default manager?

I have tried various settings sofar and nothing seems to be working, I can only use Flashgot by righclicking a link which sadly isn't always possible. I want to be able to use Flashgot (or at least try...) for every link!

Alt+click it is.... don't know how I didn't see this.
I'd still prefer the 'classic' way though...
