JDownloader Not Automatically Launching in Certain Cases
JDownloader Not Automatically Launching in Certain Cases
I am running Windows 7 Ultimate x64, Firefox 4.0, and my chosen download manager is JDownloader (latest version).
When I have JDownloader open already, everything works perfectly and as expected through FlashGot.
When JDownloader is NOT open, there's only a couple ways to get JDownloader to launch when using FlashGot. Either I select the entire page (Ctrl+A) and do FlashGot Selection or I do FlashGot All, then JDownloader will open normally and send a lot of links to the Linkgrabber. However, if I make a small selection and do FlashGot Selection or just do a single FlashGot Link, JDownloader will not launch.
Any ideas on why this is happening? More often than not I would like to FlashGot a single link or a small selection rather than FlashGot the entire page (lots of irrelevant links sent).

Re: JDownloader Not Automatically Launching in Certain Cases
It works both ways for me (either if I send one link, a selection or all the page).
Could you show me your FlashGot Options|Advanced|Show Log output?

Here is log if I attempt to do FlashGot Link on a random link and then do FlashGot Selection with a small portion of the page with JDownloader NOT running (and fails to launch after attempting both):
Here is log if I select the entire page (Ctrl+A) and do FlashGot Selection with JDownloader NOT running (and succeeds in launching):

Re: JDownloader Not Automatically Launching in Certain Cases
That's extremely weird.
In your first example (FlashGot Link), JDownloader appears to be running!
"JDownloader response: 200" means that JDownloader's internal web server is answering "OK, I'm here" to FlashGot's request.
Could you please try to open http://127.0.0.1:9666/flashgot while JDownloader is not running (and FlashGot link doesn't launch it) and tell me what happens?

Re: JDownloader Not Automatically Launching in Certain Cases
If I load that link (http://127.0.0.1:9666/flashgot) in Firefox 4.0, it displays a blank page. If I load it in IE9, I get the "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" error. Same result before and after attempting to FlashGot Link/FlashGot Selection (JDownloader fails to launch).

This hints to a problem with Firefox.PeterDLai wrote: If I load that link (http://127.0.0.1:9666/flashgot) in Firefox 4.0, it displays a blank page. If I load it in IE9, I get the "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" error.
Are you using a proxy (on Firefox only)?
Could you try on a clean profile with just FlashGot installed?

Re: JDownloader Not Automatically Launching in Certain Cases
I'm not using a proxy in any of my browsers. I tried a new clean profile with just FlashGot installed, same behavior. Strange...Giorgio Maone wrote:This hints to a problem with Firefox.PeterDLai wrote: If I load that link (http://127.0.0.1:9666/flashgot) in Firefox 4.0, it displays a blank page. Re: JDownloader Not Automatically Launching in Certain Cases
Is there anything actually running on localhost:9666?
Could you open the root directly ( http://localhost:9666/ )?

Same behavior as http://127.0.0.1:9666/flashgot/ where Firefox 4.0 displays blank page and IE9 gives me "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" error.Giorgio Maone wrote:Is there anything actually running on localhost:9666?

It's nothing to lose sleep over, I was just thinking it might be a simple fix, but apparently not.
