This comment of yours had derailed me a bit, leading me to believe that any download manager was OK to reproduce this issue.
However I've just tried with aria2, and finally I can reproduce, even though I'm frankly baffled, since at first sight it has nothing specially different from cURL, Axel or D4X which are working just fine and which share through inheritance the very piece of code which fails, according to the logs.
