opensuse11.2

Post by dam »

after updating to latest flashgot, it messes up firefox3.5.6 (suse version)
(it doesn't crash or freeze firefox, it isn't easy to describe - but i'll give it a try)

problem:
- first url loads correct, but with exeptions like opensuse.org or yahoo.com telling me it could not end the request... because of denied cookies - but there is no differencce in allowing them or not (same message), but loaded urls doesn't set cookies if allowed... e.g google.com, next e.g. dict.leo.org showhing me 404error
- if the first url is loaded correctly or not it seems to be that ervery followed url is loaded through this one,
so e.g1: first url: yahoo.com doesn't load next urls doesn't load either but the browser tries loading url of first one
or e.g2: first url: google.com okay, loads but next one loads with their url but showing me first url
e.g3: wikipedia.org than changed to google.de and there it is (pic)

what i've tried wihtout success:
-deactivated flashgot and deinstalled
-starting firefox in safemod
-reisntalled firefox but problem still remains (through yast, even with deleting of all preferences in home/name/.mozilla btw: i am new to linux/opensuse so i could not yet figure out how to deinstall/reinstall friefox safely, "rpm -e firefox" won't work in console...saying that this rpm package isn't installed )

pls help :(

This alone rules out any FlashGot responsibility: if it's uninstalled, it cannot do anything to your browser.

This rules out most if not all add-on related problems, since it disables any add-on you've got.

Therefore the FlashGot update is surely a coincidence unrelated to your problem, and chance are it's not even a Firefox-specific problem.
Do other browsers work correctly on that box?

i know that should not be- but  (it sounds stupid  ) but this problem occured by reopening firefox after updating flashgot to 1.2.1.10... so i looked up the error console:

Code: Select all

Point out to be xulrunner and java...

yup konqueror does fine, susefirefox3.5.6 also with flashgot1.2.1.09 - until that update; so i installed susefirefox3.5.5 and 3.5.4 but both with same issues -> so imho it should have to be a specific prob related to firefox (maybe suse) but i don't know which caused that - so i was convinced that this was flashgot.

Solution
So i changed to original mozilla firefox3.6.0 which solves this prob for me now
