RFE: Temp allow site opened through bookmark

Post by Tom T. »

These users wanted to allow example.com/search without allowing the entire example.com domain. One idea that came up was to bookmark example.com/search, and then "allow sites opened through bookmarks" -- to allow only that page. I pointed out that this would require telling NS to allow *all* sites opened through bookmarks, which might be more permission than one would want to give.

The suggestion from user digitul was:
In the future, perhaps consider an option where Ctrl- or Shift-clicking a bookmark will "temporarily allow" a bookmark
.
IOW, NS > General > "Allow sites opened through bookmarks" remains unchecked, but the user can special-click an individual bookmark (Ctr, Shift, Alt, whatever), and NS will TA scripting at that particular page.

Sounds like a good idea to me.

Thanks for posting this request for me, Tom. Also wanted to toss in the idea of using Ctrl-Shift-Click (or similar) on a link in a web page, and the target URL is temporarily allowed to run scripts. I think Shift-Click, Ctrl-Click, and Alt-Click already have functions, so it'd have to be a combo of some sort..

Thanks for any consideration!
