Screwy Icon Status Indicators

Post by therube »

Screwy Icon Status Indicators

All the same browser session.

I've got a page blocked, a page Allowed, that part's OK, & at the same time, I've got a page with scripts Allowed Globally?

Where I stand in actuality, not sure?
Also assuming I won't be able to duplicate it again, unless it "just happens".

:o :!:
Confirmed.

Seems scripts ARE actually allowed and running! Tried Firebug's console which doesn't work here on script-disabled sites... and it worked!
Also, in the Web Console:

Code: Select all

[20:51:42.614] Use of getAttributeNode() is deprecated. Use getAttribute() instead. @ http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.5.1/jquery.min.js:16
[20:51:42.614] Use of attributes' nodeValue attribute is deprecated. Use value instead. @ http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.5.1/jquery.min.js:16
[20:51:43.831] Use of getPreventDefault() is deprecated. Use defaultPrevented instead. @ http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.5.1/jquery.min.js:16
And it's worse - the global allow permission sticks to the tab until it's closed!

STR:
1) run a bookmarklet on a non-whitelisted page
2) go to another page (with the same tab)

(edited for clarity)

(Not that this is necessarily an exact regression range, but 2.6.8.25rc2 isn't affected, so I'm downgrading until this gets fixed.)

Could this be related to work on the experimental new preferences? One of them was 'cascade allow all'...

Oops, therube's screenshot was cut off on my monitor - and not only does it show NS 2.6.8.25rc2, the menu on the screwy icon doesn't look like my menu did. So what I'm seeing is actually something else entirely. Sorry for hijacking this thread, please split if needed.

I'm not so sure of that.
Very possible that it is the same issue.

And yes, I can DUP with your STR.

Yes, something definitely wrong, in 2.6.8.27rc3.
(Not sure if 27rc2 was affected? 27rc1 was not.)

OK, so 2.6.8.25rc2 is not affected by your STR.
In any case, what happens & what is seen are similar.

So maybe there's a root cause, only different triggers.
I'm fine having it all mentioned here.

Once it is triggered...

pages opened in the same tab remain Allowed Globally

Forbid Globally, does change the icon, but if you change to a different tab, then back to the initial tab, the icon again show Allowed Globally

A quick look says it's working properly.
