Thanks - that explains the internal downloader behavior. Neither wget nor cURL were able to get the video at all, but if one works. I'm happy.

Since version Flashgot 1.2.3 came out, I can't download .AVI files any more. I wanted to go back to an older version, but the links for doing this are no longer on the site.

Until this release came out, I had no trouble with most sites where I'd go to pull down a flash video (.flv) or an MP3. With this release, the Flashgot subwindow opens briefly, then it disappears and no media files come down. If I try Flashgot All, everything EXCEPT the media files gets downloaded. ...
